The North West 200 is a world renowned event, which this year brought 185,000 spectators to County Londonderry and an economic benefit of £8 million into the local economy. The week long motorcycle event relies on over 800 volunteers to ensure everything runs smoothly and safely. Their enormous efforts (over 90 years!) are rightly acknowledged by Her Majesty the Queen.
Receiving the award from the Lord Lieutenant, Mrs Alison Millar, is Race Director Mervyn Whyte MBE on the left and Chief Marshal Cathal Cunning on the right.
