It was a very special day for Leona and Richard Kane as they welcomed His Majesty King Charles and Queen Camila to the family farm of Broglasco on the outskirts of Limavady, the home of their multi award-winning rapeseed oil, ‘Broighter Gold’.
Her Majesty had a tour of the various production processes and facilities, meeting members of staff and learning about the sustainability practices put in place by the business. Then in the farmhouse kitchen, Queen Camila was hands on, with local celebrity chef Paula McIntyre, cooking steak fillets using the farm’s rapeseed oil.
Meanwhile out in the family barn, His Majesty joined a reception, hosted by the Food, Farming and Countryside Commission. The King had the opportunity to speak to local farmers and young people.
As part of the Royal’s visit to the County in March 2025 it was a hugely memorable day for all who gathered there.
