
This photo kick-starts the beginning of celebrations to mark The Roe Valley Ancestral Researchers receiving the Kings Award for Voluntary Service (KAVS) This is recognition, at the highest level, for the many years this small group of local enthusiasts have committed themselves to researching, archiving, preserving and promoting the Roe Valley’s local history, environment and heritage. Their dedication to projects such as The Green Lane Museum in the Roe Valley Country Park which they rescued and reopened with volunteer staff and the restoration, once again with local volunteers, of Farlow Wood and Sampson’s Tower is remarkable and that’s just a part of their contribution to communities across the Roe Valley.
