The Lord Lieutenant is delighted to announce the County’s recipients of New Year’s Honours 2026 and thanks all those presented with an honour for their work and commitment to our communities.

MBE

Mrs Helen Mark MBE DL of Myroe, Limavady for services to broadcasting in Northern Ireland and further afield.
An organiser of the Belfast Tattoo and supporter of cultural and traditional events in Northern Ireland.

Miss Margaret Peacock MBE of Coleraine for services to the community. A regional worker for Fibromyalgia Support NI. Furthermore, with a wonderful band of volunteers, she has for 40 years provided congenial Christmas day lunches for those who would otherwise be isolated.

Mr Alistair Jinks MBE of Coleraine Director of Business Services NIWater for services to the Environment and the Economy. An experienced manager with a background in manufacturing, retail and utilities, he has been delivering innovative improvements and efficiencies in NIW.

BEM

Mrs Eleanor Wolfenden-Orr BEM of Portstewart for services to charitable fundraising and the community in NI, most recently Leukaemia and Lymphoma NI

Mrs Rebecca (Ruby) Wray BEM of Coleraine for services to volunteering in NI, in particular Barnardos, working as a volunteer in the Coleraine shop. She is now 91.

Mr Jonathan McNee BEM of Claudy for voluntary service to military aviation archaeology in NI. An inspirational archaeologist and writer of archaeology who has in his own time worked on many sites including the “Donegal Spitfire”.

Ms Mary Hampson BEM of Magherafelt for services to Community Safety within the Probation Board NI she promoted effectively Enhanced Combination Orders tackling issues causing reoffending.
